These lands of Satikw Crossing, connected to Highway 97, will have dramatic value for commercial and employment related purposes. PIB has moved aggressively into developing an economy. Satikw Crossing is an economic infrastructure endeavour that will connect the economies of Penticton Indian Band (PIB) with the City of Penticton, and by association, with those of the greater South Okanagan.

Project Overview

PIB intends to connect key developable reserve lands with those of the City of Penticton. To do so PIB has undertaken 3 tasks:

  • Build a bridge across the Okanagan River Parkway Channel between the City of Penticton and prime developable PIB Reserve lands;
  • Build an intersection on the Channel Parkway Highway 97 feeding onto the proposed bridge; and
  • Complete engineering design for the potable and fire protection water distribution line to the channel lands.
